I threw away the dock icon and restarted the machine. Then I went through the login items and made sure nothing unusual in there after the restart. I did a clean install of Chrome but the problem immediately started again. I had to repeat the Terminal command process to kill the app. Something malicious is on this machine is attacking the browser so I am on to figure that out, but at least you will be able to remove Chrome until the malware is removed.
